Canadian Paul Tichelaar's 9th placing was enough to secure him a starting position at the olympics.

Greg Bennett leading from the front to make his place at the Olympics a certainty.

He raced hard but unfortunately for Australia was unable to confirm his start at the olympics.

Simon Whitfield went all out for the home crowd but 6th would have to do today.

Great performance by Reto Hug from Switzerland running into 3rd.

Simon Whitfield also gave it everything in front of his home crowd and sprint finshed with Matthew Reed for the 5th and 6th position. Simon will be looking to back up his gold medal performance from Sydney(2000), at this years olympics in Beijing.

World ITU ranked number one Javier Gomez took it out in great style and is getting close to legendary status in my view.
